Hi-Ability Mobility Pula – 5 days of training activities, hiking and fun

This week we had 5 beautifull days of mobility in Croatia as part of the Hi-Ability project. Pula was the host town for project partners Controvento (Italy), Trekify (Italy),  EPIONI (Greece),  EPOS Fylis (Greece), EASPD (Belgium) and Health Life Academy who engaged in many activities.

The Hi-Ability project wants to promote an education for autonomy, independent and inclusive life for adults with intellectual disabilities (ID), in a context still not very accessible such as hiking and eco-tourism.

The main goal of the mobility in Pula was to test the Hi-ability app and the Toolkit.

During the 5 day mobility multiple indoor and outdoor practical activities were carried out. Participants played games, searched for items in the forest in a treasure hunt, shared their knowledge and thoughts about the hiking and walking and drew pictures of the beauty of nature. All training and practical activities were really fun and also related to the Toolkit.

Along with testing the Toolkit we tested the newly created Hi-Ability App –
easy to read app on nature tourism expressly dedicated to people with ID and their families, which will promote accessible routes for the target group. We tested the first version of the App by exploring the beautiful Sijana Forest.

In addition to project activities, we had the opportunity to visit the city center check out some of the cultural sights of Pula like the famous Pula Amphitheatre.

We also visited NK Istra 1961 football stadium “Aldo Drosina” took some pictures and also took part in the training session with players from NK Istra 1961 Special Power Team. At the end NK Istra 1961 provided gifts to our participants and we took a nice picture together at the football field.
