Special Power League won 2020 UEFA Grassroots Award

Our SPECIAL POWER LEAGUE project won the UEFA Silver Award for the best disability initiative in the 2020 UEFA Grassroots Awards!
The awards recognize leaders, clubs and projects throughout Europe for their outstanding commitment and contribution to grassroots football, celebrating some unsung heroes at the bedrock of the game.

The Special power League project began in 2018 in collaboration with HNS (Croatian Football Association) with the aim of further integration of children with disabilities through football and play. As part of this project, we established cooperation with numerous Croatian football clubs in order to encourage them to create teams for children with disabilities and to jointly organize tournaments.

The basic idea of the SPL project is to motivate children with disabilities to actively integrate into society through sports activities. The project was designed based on the fact that children with disabilities do not have the opportunity to adequately play sports.

Along with HNS we would also like to thank Mateo Kovačić Foundation, GNK Dinamo Zagreb, HNK Hajduk Split, NK Osijek, NK Istra 1961, NK Slaven Belupo, NK Međimurje, SILab, Udruga Sindrom Down 21 Split, Sportska udruga Veliko srce, POGLED – udruga za autizam, Škola za odgoj i brazovanje – Pula – neslužbena stranica and Centar za odgoj i obrazovanje “Ivan Štark” for their support and massive contribution to achieving project goals.
