We are thrilled to announce the launch of PlanetGoals, an innovative project aimed at upskilling professionals within football-related entities across Greece, Spain, the UK, the Netherlands, Croatia, and Italy. Our mission? To integrate environmental and social sustainable practices into the operations and governance of these entities, paving the way for a transition towards climate neutrality while fostering inclusivity and promoting healthy lifestyles for all.
PlanetGoals is not just a project; it’s a movement towards a more sustainable future. Through a range of activities including the creation of a Handbook, Capacity Building courses, an e-Learning Hub, and a Self-Assessment Tool, alongside an Awareness Raising Campaign, we’re set to revolutionize the way football-related entities approach sustainability.
Our ambitious project outputs include the development of 21 best practices outlined in the Planet Goals Handbook, conducting 10 comprehensive training sessions engaging 100 participants, assessing the sustainability levels of operations and governance of 50 football-related entities, and organizing 15 community engagement events alongside 15 Social and Climate-Friendly activities, involving a whopping 450 participants.
But we’re not stopping there. We’re harnessing the power of multimedia with 6 dedicated videos focusing on football entities’ sustainability aspects, alongside a robust online campaign to spread our message far and wide.
With an estimated 60,000 individuals set to benefit from this project, we’re confident that by equipping our target groups with the necessary learning tools for distance education, we can ignite real change. We envision a future where football entities lead the charge towards climate neutrality, championing inclusion, equality, and healthy lifestyles every step of the way.
But we’re not doing this alone. Collaboration is key. Through knowledge exchange between partners and stakeholders, we aim to capitalize on our efforts, fostering sustainability not just locally, but regionally, nationally, and across the EU. Together, we’re paving the way for a more sustainable future—one goal at a time.
