SPL Koprivnica – football, cooking, scouting and more

The 15th edition of Special Power League has brought some new ideas on stage. Our participants had the best time playing football on the sports field of Koprivnica main stadium, home of croatian professional team NK Slaven Belupo Koprivnica.

Besides the usual football activities our participant had some scouting experience on Ješkovo Lake.

All participants arrived on Saturday where they were hosted in Ješkovo Lake as part of art center Ješkovo. Everything was ready to welcome young athletes and guests who stayed and enjoyed the natural beauty of the countryside and the Drava River. There were various activities like workshop in clay, traditional sport and games, cooking together with local company Podravka and more.

But the most attractive part was putting up tents in collaboration with “Kamengrad” scouts. Activities were part of the ERASMUS+ project Hi-Ability which promotes an education for autonomy, independent and inclusive life for adults with intellectual disabilities (ID), in a context still not very accessible such as hiking and eco-tourism.

Early on Sunday morning, on the football fields of NK Slaven Belupo Koprivnica, 4 teams were ready for a series of football matches. The following teams demonstrated their football knowledge, skills and sports spirit: NK Istra 1961 Special Power Team, NK Slaven Belupo Special Power Team, NŠ Sloga Čakovec Special Power Team and HNK Hajduk Special Power Team. The participants of the tournament are also members and participants of associations and institutions: Association “Syndrome Down 21 Split”, SU “Veliko Srce” from Koprivnica, Association Latice from Koprivnica, Association for Autism Pogled Nedelišće and School of Education Pula .

In the afternoon after the football matches we tried a little bit of Teqball as well. Teqball is a sport based on football, played on a specially curved table, which attracts a new generation of athletes and amateur enthusiasts.

At the end the sport event, Health Life Academy general secretary Dario Jagić and players from NK Slaven Belupo Koprivnica provided gifts for the participants.
