Health Life Academy Association continued the European Mile campaign in Split, Croatia, on 11 June. On the famous Split Riva more than 100 participants, including children and youth, parents, people with intellectual disabilities (PWID), trainers, and associates working with PWID, started collecting miles for a good cause. As part of the European Mile event, the participants took a walk on a beautiful walking trail alongside the shore where each participant collected and donated more than 3 km (over 200 miles in total).<\/strong><\/p>

The participants of the European Mile were members of Health Life Academy Association, SU “Veliko srce” from Koprivnica, the Association for Autism Pogled Nedeli\u0161\u0107e, School for children with disabilities Pula, the association “Sindrom Down 21 Split”, Association Latice, Centar za odgoj i obrayovanje \u201cIvan \u0160tark\u201d Osijek and Croatian football clubs (HNK Hajduk, NK Istra 1961, NK Slaven Belupo Koprivnica, NK Me\u0111imurje \u010cakovec, NK Osijek).<\/p>

This time again, because of the pandemic situation globally, the campaign was held on a smaller scale, respecting all the recommendations of the competent epidemiological service and all relevant institutions and measures. Project activities were adapted to the pandemic situation and, above all, took care of the health of the participants.<\/p>

Furthermore, the campaign was implemented along with the project Special Power League – sports league for children with disabilities. The project was established in 2018, initiated by the Health Life Academy Association and joined by Croatian Football Federation (HNS), Croatian Handball Federation (HRS), Mateo Kova\u010di\u0107 Foundation, Croatian Paralympic Association, SILab Association, Association \u2018Veliko Srce\u2019 from Koprivnica, Association \u2018Pogled\u2019 from Nedeli\u0161\u0107e, Association for Down Syndrome 21 Split, School of Education Pula, Educational centers for children with disabilities from: Rijeka, Osijek, \u010cakovec, Velika Gorica, as well as football and handball clubs from Croatia and abroad. The basic idea of the project is to motivate children with disabilities to actively integrate into society through sports activities.<\/p>

At the end of the event, members of the Health Life Academy Association presented gifts to the participants.
